vash is literally the subject of their investigation whos also just hitching a ride east from them, also for vash he treats everybody with equal kindness, theyr as much his friends as rosa is, hes a century.5 old wanderer who deliberately keeps his distance + explicitly says theres "no way" roberto and meryl are his friends and sure its hard to tell when vash is being genuine bc of all of his deliberate emotional repression we can still take this as an insight that he was ready and willing to emotionally disconnect himself from them at the drop of a hat

and wolfwood is a funny case bc the audience catches their clear similarities and immediate Understanding in eachother but fails to see that these are 2 emotionally repressed men who Just Met and are just.. making eyes and assumptions but not really saying much, ofc wolfwood knows more than he lets on from his job but Knowing About A Guy and then making eyes and having an uncomfortable arms length dynamic with him bc u worry that He Knows about u too can hardly be described as being friends or even close.

by this point theyr people who have drifted by eachother, people who have crossed paths and were kind to eachother, theyr acquaintances who if u asked one about the other theyd go "yeah, wow, wonder what theyr up to, that was a weird 3 months" like theyr 4 strangers who trauma bonded at best but i like it that way

vash is the only one i can say would be content with never seeing them again, i want to think he misses them and thinks about them a lot bc muh ships but i Know for him they were a blip on the radar of "people who were kind to me" like everyone else. maybe theyr a bit more than that, maybe the thought of them lingers when he cant sleep or when hes showering, why did meryls voice break thru to him so much? why didnt she run away? why does he resonate with wolfwood so much? why is someone so kind with an organisation like the eye? what do they think after finding out the truth? are they even still alive? i think he lingers on them but he has no desire to track them, if they meet again it would be a nice example of fate or good luck but hes not going out of his way, he cant do connections, he cant get attatched.

hello yes you and @boltlightning are both asking about this so you all will get a very fun yet pleasantly vague preview of my current original project.

so as many of my long term mutuals and pals might know, ive been trying to write a novel for a billion years at this point. my original original project, a horror novel, got shelved midway through last year after id spent two years begging it to come together coherently and it told me to go fuck myself, and so i decided i wanted to write an adult fantasy novel because i grew up reading fantasy and i think there's fun to be had in that space! this novel has gone through several iterations before i reached the current plot and im quite pleased with the current version!

some fun things my novel involves include

religious imagery including gay sex in a church. this should surprise literally no one given... all this on my blog.

courtly intrigue and politics

a stupid villain who gets more interesting with every attempt at character work i do, but who im now quite fond of and fully expect there to be some folks who ship him with my hero. at this point y'all are valid. no judgement. it's not endgame. but live your dreams.

a half decent magic system if i do say so myself

childhood friends to lovers being my only nod to any sort of romance tropes at the present time and that'll probably stay that way because the romance is important to my character but not in a romantasy way?

terrible names for everything. took me 84 tries to name the love interest for my character. his name will probably STILL change.

joking aside, it is a premise that i personally would want to read and that's where the fun has been really coming in because since i want to read it, its so much easier to not only figure out the plot of this novel but the potential for follow ups now that im like invested in this world and in my hero. my goal is to get my first draft done by late august and start to revise it then. given that my dream is to one day publish any of my works, possibly including this one, im keeping it real vague on the actual plot of it all, but there is one. i promise. and the title will not be in the mold of "a bowl of mac and cheese" either because that's just not what im here for.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

I already made a post compiling everything I hated about fanon akashi but Ill say it again.

People make him out to be some psycho who is obsessed with kuroko and hates everybody else. They give him no other personality other than scissors, tetsuya and being absolute as if he isnt so so much more than that.

Oreshi doesnt even exist in the heads of people who do this. But it has gotten much better over the years and most of the fandom has finally gotten a good grasp of hos character so thats nice.

Romantic AkaKuro. I just feel like their relationship is so much more than romance. You cant describe their relationship with the word romance. I see them more as queer platonic partners.

Again cant decide between Nijimura, Mayuzumi and Mibuchi so Ill explain my thoughts on all.

Nijimura was one of the only people who treated akashi as what he truly was, a child. He took him out for snacks, guided him actually cared for him you know all the reasons why niji is the best senpai. And Akashi really did look up to him and enjoyed being vice captain under him.

Reo is another person who treats Akashi(both of them) with so much kindness and love. Even If Mibuchi didnt(probably) like akashi romantically he would still care about him just as much. Like Akashi is his baby he loves him so much. And Akashi loves Reo just as much which is obvious given how he comforted him for the foul during the RakuSei match.

MayuAka is defo one of my favorite duos in series. They are the canon light and shadow duo for Rakuzan. Mayuzumi brings the much needed normalacy in Akashi's life like lending him his light novels(on multiple occasions might I add). But he also encouraged Akashi(in his own sarcastic way) even if he wasnt obligated to for how akashi treated him during the match. He forgives Akashi when he apologizes even though he could have rejected it. And Akashi likes Mayuzumi too. He frequently invites him to matches and outings(more like doesnt give him a chance to say no)(this was in cross colors btw) and quite literally tricked him into spending time with the other shadows(takao and kuroko). I think their relationship is very unexplored in the bigger sections of the fandom. Ok this got way too long Im sorry.

19. How about a relationship they have in canon that you don't like?

His relationship with his father leaves a lot to be desired. Now I dont think that masaomi is a bad person per say but he is a horrible father with or without meaning to. He blatantly neglets Akashi during his childhood and in his teenage years. He doesnt allow Akashi to mourn the death of his mother and only pushes him further. Akashi is forced to live up to his unreal expectations his entire life.

Now I dont think he doesnt love Akashi, I think that Masaomi is a man who loved his late wife but does not know how to give his son the love he needs and deserves partly because it was also how he was raised. Their relationship is overall pretty toxic and I can only hope that they talk through their issues when Akashi is older.

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

Honestly? Either Momoi or Takao.

Momoi is an insanely intelligent girl and If this wasnt already said this enough they would overthrow the world. AkaMomo friendship wasnt shown in the show because they knew it would be too powerful.

Takao is a positive and funny person. He is optimistic and one of his greatest strenghts is being able to make any situation funny. I know this has been mentioned before but both Takao and Akashi want to improve on something the other has(being a point guard for takao and being approachable and funny for akashi)

I think they would bring out the best in eachother. They would also make Midorima's life miserable which is a bonus.

There's nothing in the fandom that I particularly hate other than the people who hate her tbh. In all the fics Ive read she is pretty badass and cool.

But her haters istg. They either hate her cause they find her love for kuroko annoying or because she gets in the way of their gay ships or whatever(I absolutely despise when female characters are hated because they " get in the way of m/m ship")

They also dislike her because she body shamed riko but tbh her calling riko's boobs small is 100 times better than aomine kneeing his teammate in the gut dont you think🤨🤨

11. Would you date this character?

One word. Yes.

Momoi is such a sweet person overall, she is so nice and caring and kind. Yes her cooking sucks but I can cook well enough for the both of us. I know for a fact she would be a super affectionate girlfriend. Id be getting cuddles 24/7.

AoMomo no competition. The childhood best friends to lovers. Momoi literally being Aomine's ideal girl, Momoi not realising that she likes Aomine because she liked kuroko. Aomine always protecting her no matter what. The two of them being throught thick and thin with eachother.

I just love their relatioship whether or not it is platonic or romantic.

We finished season 3 of Bungo Stray Dogs. We are basking in the Wan! episodes before the agony of the next seasons. Cant even find relief in the manga; the manga readers are coping hard in the tags! youre all so brave!

Thoughts so far;

Dazai is a mood. Theres so much wrong with that man. hes suffering. his smile is a knife. All ive seen is the anime and Im kinda desperate for more, so Im gonna have to invest in all the light novels immediately.

Atsushi being told to run away from Akutagawa immediately on sight, and then meeting him 20 minutes later is hilarious imo. he did not run on sight. do you think they tell all newbies that? If it were me I wouldnt have even recognized him. Id forget his name and his face immediately. Dazai wouldve stepped in and Idve been, oh i thought hed be taller.

Atsushi and Akutagawa passing therapy tips and tricks back and forth is great. Theyve been fighting the whole time nonstop. theyve only fought like 3 ish times total so far. theyre already so over each other. theyre fed up. get this guy outta here!

Why do they ask for kunikidas advice and then not take it? its not really a critique, i actually find it funny. its a coin flip. he's right or hes a stick in the mud. Man is coping hard. he cares so much. he cares too much.

I feel like the Adrienette and Gabriemilie parallels are hurting my investment with the ships - not because “Oh everything about Adrienette now!” but because I feel the similarities kind of take away the uniqueness of both ships, particularly with Gabriemilie. Like as much as I have (and always will) clown on Gabriel for his “dead coma wife” motive, the fact that he didn’t really share any traits with Marinette outside of being into fashion was good because it make the natural parallels between the two (Planners, stubborn, need for control, has to be able to predict every possible outcome or they spiral) stand out more. Sure, that was likely on purpose, but it helped solidify Gabemoth as both an antagonist and obstacle for Marinette’s romance because even without them showing it, you could tell in the earlier seasons he’s been where she is, pinning after someone who seems out of reach for him and only loved one side of him.

But now that it’s been revealed that Gabriel too was a young rebellious creative who loved designing outside the box, and fell in love with the posh famous princess loved by all, also challenging her restrictive family and throwing away his identity so he could stand next to her in the world of the elite, just like a certain plucky pigtailed protagonist of ours. Gabriel feels less like “This is what Marinette could become if gave into her darker impulses (and y’know, experienced a personal tragedy)” now and more “Wow, Gabriel and Marinette are just so similar! Everything’s the same about them head to toe. They even have the same backstory! It’s like they’re twins or something!” and it makes all their story connections boring because Gabriemilie isn’t a story of tragic love and obsessive mourning threatening to consume everything anymore - now it’s “Future!Adrienette AU parallel #328494″ and it just sucks the fun out of learning about their history because you already know what’s coming next.

Meanwhile, Adrienette constantly getting the “Wow he’s just like me fr” treatment with them in the show really just dampens its appeal because it’s become less about the journey of two kids who seem to love the images they project to others and yet are slowly peeling back the layers of their inner and outer-selves as they try and navigate their own character growth and more “Lets see how many times we can copy and paste our main dynamic onto other couples”. The square dynamics and the idea they’d eventually coalesce into an interesting romantic paring once IDs were revealed was one of the things that drew me into Adrienette and the rest as well as seeing them develop a deeper relationship over the course of the show, and now it’s just us rushing through the couple getting together without really being given the chance to enjoy them getting together because everything else is happening either too soon or too fast while the ship is constantly compared to several others (but mostly Gabriemilie) who then turn around and go “Yeah, my relationship’s good, but not as good as Adrienette! Those two are made for each other! Unlike us, who don’t have any of the things that make Adrienette perfect!” and it’s just making me think “You guys...are pretty much the same.”

10. Probably what frustrates me the most about amatonormativity is that monogamy and having children is expected? I think personally I am way more frustrated by aros misusing the term to call aplatonics who like romance "amatonormative" and hate on people for not prioritising friendship and family(Im extremely disgusted by both and any nonrose things so I must be these aros' nightmares or something lol), and Im very frustrated by platonormativity. I like romance sometimes, and I'm from a romance negative culture that frowns on romance and emphasizes arranged marriage instead, and that is something I want to avoid. Romance, however, under the right conditions I do want to engage in.

And I prioritise my sexual and romantic-sexual partners over everyone else, I don't want any other close relationships at all and of course Id value my partners and myself over other people. Thats just how I function. If I didn't have partners, I would prioritise myself over other people mainly. I can't say I feel very impacted by amatonormativity just because Im arospec, but again Im not living in America right now so obviously the way it is in my culture varies greatly from a theory created in the context of the western world.

But about the norms in my culture, I feel like its that people wouldn't understand my romantic-sexual or sexual relationships because its w other headmates in my system, so Id appear single since we aren't open about being plural irl. Some of my peers may think its weird that Im aro, bc they may think queerness is weird. But a lot of them are very careful about romance because of romance negativity and how their family may not approve (yes, even 'cis straight passing' romance), yet expect people to feel romantic attraction. Some of them just seem to resign themself to the idea of being married off in an arranged marriage because thats what their parents want. Maybe some genuinely want that for themself, Im not exactly sure? but I don't want that, and I have partners already.

Basically I will never relate to wanting arranged marriage, and the way I approach romance is not traditional bc Im demiromantic allosexual and nonfriending aplatonic(I can't perform friendship, which is expected as a precursor to romance), and polyamorous/polyerosous. I feel like because the opposite is expected, the way I require a sexual relationship to even feel romantic attraction and a desire to be in a romantic relationship may be frowned upon due to sex negativity and amatonormativity in general, and bc that deviates from the arranged marriage norm where I live. And I don't want to raise kids (not even as a single parent or coparent), and thats a 'step' often expected in romance and marriage, although my current partners don't particularly require that in a relationship. And all that is what I feel makes amatonormativity or an equivalent to it, impact me in my culture.

I think that either amatonormativity should be broadened to include similar enforcement of societal norms that aren't covered by just talking about white european or american norms, or other terms should be coined to refer to this. I feel like either ppl online are narrowing the scope of what amatonormativity includes, or they are being overly eurocentric and americentric about it. I feel the way Elizabeth Brake's theory is explained definitely doesn't fully explain the attitudes in my culture about romance and marriage. And that is very likely because it was formed in a western context.

18. I only ship romantic-sexual and sexual ships. I can't say Im really invested in reading about romance aspects but more so the attraction? I relate to feeling romantic and sexual attraction which is probably why I ship those ships. Im kind of repulsed by nonsexual-in-intent ships that are romantic so I never ship them. I avoid fiction where the romance is stated to have no sexual attraction bc it repulses me. Sometimes I get really bored of a ship once it becomes canon, like theres no more suspense or anticipation I guess? (example - Lumity in the owl house). I don't like slow burn because its extremely boring and often involves friendship, which Im repulsed by.

I think sometimes I may ship characters or focus on shipping just because it makes me feel sick to think about friendship, even in media. Considering the characters as romantically or sexually involved is not repulsion inducing so I prefer it. I also hate ships where ppl write them as telling each other they are friends as well as partners, or friends to lovers bc ew (plato repulsed).

Either way the main type of shipping I prefer is sexual self shipping because I have fictional sexual crushes(I never feel romantic attraction to fictional characters) I ship myself with, sometimes also fluff or romance-coded self ship content that I feel like I can interpret as having sexual attraction as the intent. I may also avoid canon or fanon ships of characters I have crushes on, if it causes me to feel jealous.

Second, no, if I was id still be celebrating the arkos kiss or just arkos in general, or I'd be writing fanfiction about how jaune and Ren are such "gigachads who get ALL the pussy because men are better and I am CLEARLY overcompensating for the fact I have a microdick". Which, if you looked on my garbage blog, has nothing of the sorts.

Now to the actual point, this is due to the fact there has been no hinting towards whiterose, no building towards, not even passing remarks about how close Weiss and ruby are getting. There has been nothing done for it so unless v10 is greenlit and rt decided to say "y'know what? For today let's make glitchs day shit" before making whiterose happen by pulling a bumblebee and backpedaling away from any ship they were pushing towards and instead constructing a half-assed, terribly written, and overall cluster fuck of a WR romance subplot before rt talks out of their ass and says it was planned when in truth it wasn't.

Now look, lots of people LOVE this trope, it's campy, it's feel good, it's ushy-gushy and it's just disgustingly sweet.

I hate it.

It's overdone.

It's contrived.

And overall its the same bullshit.

Over and over and over again it's the same bullshit with no innovation and it gets boring real fast. By the end result I'm less glad their together and more glad this boring shit is done and not repeating itself.

The structure is clunky and overall is in hindsight, REALLY terrible at telling love stories, yeah it's "tried and true" but that doesn't mean it's good.

Finally for the last reason why I find it baffling why this ship has not been discarded and pissed is the same reason why I don't care for arkos aside from the fact it's boring.

There's no payoff, thus there's nothing worth investing in.

Every major point you could have happen is already done.

Weiss becoming personable?

Done.

Weiss realizing that she can depend on her team and not be a bitch to others because not everyone cares about her status or her name.

Done.

A metaphorically middle finger to weiss' father showing that he's just a push over and has no control over his family that he can use to harm them.

Already done oh yeah and if I am correct, he's dead. (I haven't kept up with the series, I stopped at V5 but I plan on watching the entire series)

Everything that could be done for the ship has already been done in the series and the only real appeal to it is the wholesomeness. And while yes it is probably adorable there's no real point in it anymore.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass or an asshole but this ship has no merit anymore and if it some how becomes cannon it's gonna be half-assed, poorly written and just awful to watch, do I need to remind you all of how bumblebee was handled?

Overall this ship has no merit to become cannon and overall there's no real substance in general for it. Atleast for me there isn't.

If you like it for the fluff, enjoy it for the fluff but there's no point in this becoming cannon. Unless-

Rt decides to once more, play this fandom like a kazoo and make wr cannon, to also make themselves look better, and to get people to ignore the horrible, homophobic, transphobic, ableist and out right "wtf" practices done in the company, oh yeah and to also please the people who fetishize lesbians because "haha, ladies kissing are hot".

So like Allison returning is a little bit like the glimmer of light in this pile of grabage (again, in my opinion)

I am so so so disappointed and hurt by this insane decision… if he was just busy or didnt want to be in it i would be sad but id get it, but not even being asked?? This feels like a purposeful, egotistical choice on someone’s part, be it tyler jeff or the other producers. Oooo sure, I'd be happy to share my thoughts!

It's funny, I actually wasn't as into this ship my first time through the trilogy. It wasn’t like I disliked it, per se, I just hadn’t really cared one way or another. I think the biggest reason for that is that, in the grand scheme of things, Maya and Franziska really don’t interact all that much? I’m trying to think how many conversations they’ve had in the games, and really, the only one that comes to mind is the conversation about Miles. And I know not everyone cares about that kind of stuff, and if it doesn’t matter to you that’s perfectly fine, but usually it takes a good deal to get me invested in a ship.

That’s not to say there was nothing in the games at all. Even though they don’t talk directly, there’s still plenty there. Maya talks about how amazing it is that she and Franziska are the same age, yet Franziska is so cool and confident and successful. She clearly has plenty of admiration for Franziska. And conversely, we have the scenes in Trials and Tribulations with Franziska, and it’s very easy to see that she does care about Maya’s wellbeing. She worries about Maya being locked in that cave, to the point where she’s up all night frantically trying to open the locks, she seems so relieved when Maya is brought back safe and sound.

(Also there’s that part where Franziska is saying something mean to Larry and Maya glares at her and she’s like like “But uh the art is fine I guess.” Like that? That right there? That’s perfect. That’s so funny, and genuine, and kind of adorable.)

Point I’m trying to make is that I hadn’t really gotten that into this ship until more recently. But it’s grown on me so much for a lot of different reasons. Some of it is art, some of it is just really enjoying the interactions they do have, and heck, some of it is really liking the kind of dynamic they have going on. I’m a sucker for happy-go-lucky chaotic character with stiff, serious, angry character, its a really fun set up for a relationship, platonic or romantic.

But I think what really got me on board with this ship is how similar they are, and how much their similarities and their differences compliment each other. This comic is probably what got me thinking about it at first, but there really is so much to these characters that I think could really draw these to together. (Also this artist is hilarious which is a plus.) They’re both the same age, and both have the weight of a family legacy to uphold, yet Franziska forced herself to become the perfect prosecutor she thought she needed to while Maya spent so long thinking herself incapable or incompetent. Maya forces herself to be upbeat and happy for the people around her, while Franziska lashes out and pushes people away, both I think to the detriment of their own happiness. They have very different personalities, but I think those contrasting personalities really compliment each other. And I think they already admire each other a lot in game. I didn’t mention this point earlier, but near the end, Franziska and Miles are both shocked by Maya’s ability to bounce back so quickly after Bridge to the Turnabout, and I think that ability to smile through the pain is something Franziska admires.

And last but not least, I think Franziska would do to have someone like Maya in her life, and vise versa. Really, Franziska’s only support system purported in these games is Miles, and both she and Miles grew up with the very toxic mindset that Manfred instilled in them of perfection above all else. I think someone like Maya could really help her grow past that, learn to value her own enjoyment and happiness, learn to capture some of that inner child that she abandoned to become a prosecutor at thirteen. Meanwhile, I think Maya could use a bit of that von Karma confidence in her life. Someone who’s no nonsense and down to earth, and someone who cares for and admires her for those traits that make Maya Maya.

i do not believe lucifer has romantic feelings towards chloe

like, you can pry the idea that lucifer is alloaro from my cold dead hands

throughout the entire series lucifer is never shown to feel any sort of romantic attraction until the last few seasons, and even then its only been season 5 (and technically season 4 but rlly just season 5) that the word love has been properly put to his feelings towards chloe. until that point their relationship has been about breaking down lucifer's walls and making him vulnerable, both physically and emotionally.

that doesn't require the prerequisite of romantic love.

but that being said, the specific way that lucifer reacts in 5b to the question of 'can he love' hits me in a very specific way.

so the thing about love in a non-romantic sense is that there's really not enough focus on it. the meaning of love is very muddled and because of the focus put on solely romantic love, if you haven't felt romantic love, the meanings different types of love get mixed together very easily.

i personally have had a very hard time trying to figure out if my platonic love for my friends could possibly be romantic because id never felt romantic attraction which has lead to several times in my life where ive wondered if i can love (both romantically and because of the focus put on romantic love, generally too) and wondered if i could care for my friends fully if i couldnt feel romantic love. which really does seem to be lucifer's dilemma. he clearly cares for chloe deeply but him questioning his ability to love causes him to question his ability to care.

plus the fact that chloes reaction is both being ok if he doesnt love her but also insisting that he isnt incapable of love in a way that has love meaning caring

and now yeah, "oh but he tells chloe he loves her" and "he put the ring on her ring finger is heaven" i tell my friends i love them every night, and i mean it completely. i have these 2 friends who i am super close with, insanely so, close enough that i could totally see us more or less living our lives together without any of us being romantically attracted to either of the others.

and thats exactly what i see in lucifer

like the answer to 'can he love?' didn't matter when it came to how he cares for chloe. he cares for her and, romantically or not, he loves her.

him and chloe are in a qpr and still like to use terms for romantic relationships.

also i want to bring up the fact that there are in fact some aro people who are in romantic relationships and the fact that there are aro identities that do feel some romantic attraction so

since they got engaged during a war they never had actual rings. Quackity was going to propose for real this time. he used his earnings from the start up of Las Navadas to buy rings and was hoping to have the three of them control the entertainment business

now that they made a kingdom without him he assumes he’s been left behind and doesn’t go through with it. i think this is what could really kick off his villain arc

he refuses the request to join Kinoko Kingdom. he no longer has anyone to hold him back, calm him down, or help him work through trauma. so boom now he might turn into the Onceler. 🎶how ba a a ad can i be🎵 vibes yk

Karl and Sapnap don’t push him because they think he just needs time and they have their own problems to work through. Karls memory has quickly been worsening along with the stress caused by time travel. Sapnap and George have to deal with the fact that their best friend, someone they’ve known since they were kids, is locked in prison for heinous crimes and just killed a guy to see if he could bring him back. their lives aren’t looking great right now.

i think quackitys main focus now will be to get the book information from dream so he can

id like to see more of Ranboo, Michael(if anything bad happens to that zombified piglin i swear-), the Tubbo Administration, and the Syndicate (even if there isn’t a government to take down i just like them)

id also like to see more lore from the gals, idk what kind of stuff they could do currently in regards to lore but everyone has a different story obviously the Las Navadas arc doesnt have to be the central point of the dreamsmp, but im sure they’ve got something planned and im waiting to see it because we support women ❤️
